At the core of this system is a specially engineered tree, unlike any other on the market. Crafted from kiln-dried pine and reinforced with fiberglass, this tree provides a durable yet lightweight foundation. Paired with our patented fitting technology, it enables the saddle to be precisely adjusted to fit virtually any horse.
The system utilizes closed-cell foam fitting cushions, which attach directly to the tree. These cushions are available in three different sizes and can be positioned to achieve a custom fit. Importantly, they also allow each side of the saddle to be adjusted independently—a critical advantage since the majority of horses are naturally asymmetrical.
By combining different cushion sizes and placements, riders can fine-tune the width of the saddle to accommodate their horse’s unique back shape. In fact, a single saddle can be adjusted across a 4-inch width range, ensuring both comfort and performance for horses of varying builds.
The 3-D Adjustable Saddle Fitting System also includes wedge-shaped foam shims that attach directly to the fitting cushions. These shims allow you to fine-tune the bar angles to match your horse’s unique shoulder and loin conformation. By making these adjustments, you increase the surface contact area of the saddle and reduce the pounds per square inch of pressure across your horse’s back—creating a more balanced and comfortable ride.
Wedge shims are especially helpful for horses with a severe dip behind the withers, as they correct bridging and ensure proper weight distribution.
