FAQ

Q. What is the difference between Endurance and Traditional Fenders?

A. Endurance fenders have a biothane neck that connects the fender to the stirrup. There are many benefits of using biothane first of which is that it is very flexible and requires NO breaking in. It is extremely durable and very easy to clean. This biothane as opposed to using leather doesnŐt pull the ankle in when the foot is in the stirrup but instead lets the foot and leg move with the horse. With the biothane neck the ankle and knee position themselves where is best suited for the rider. This relieves unnecessary pressure on the knees and ankles making riding less stressful on them and more enjoyable for the rider. Another benefit of endurance fenders is that they have a roller buckle which is very easy to use to adjust stirrup length. This is helpful in saddles that are used by multiple riders and is even easy adjustable while on the horse.

Traditional fenders have a leather neck that is 3" wide. They require breaking in by either long hours in the saddle or through the old water and broom trick. The leather also requires conditioning to keep it supple or it will crack and eventually break. Traditional fenders have Blevins buckles to adjust stirrup length. For people that do not readjust their stirrup length Blevins buckles are fine, but for riders needing to make adjustments form time to time they can be very difficult to change and quite time consuming.
